Strolling Klippe

The mountains visible to the south from the Shimonita Town Hall are thought to have been moved by earth movement, as the peaks, colored orange in the figure below, are different from the strata below. Mountains formed by such a phenomenon are called Klippe (rootless mountains). It is not yet known where the strata at the top of the mountains migrated from.
