This pottery experience takes place in the Shimonita area, nestled in the valleys of Nishijōshū, Gunma Prefecture, where you’ll learn from a skilled local ceramic artist. The workshop includes both wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques.
Create a One-of-a-Kind Original Shimonita-Yaki
By combining handmade pieces crafted from Shimonita clay with natural ash glaze, you’ll create a truly unique original piece of Shimonita-yaki — found nowhere else in the world.
The ceramic artist’s stories and personality add even more charm to the experience!
No prior pottery experience is needed, so feel free to join even if it’s your first time.
