Shimonita Hydrangea Garden

The hydrangea garden, created by the “Hydrangea Cultivation Association” in the Mayama area, the eastern gateway of Shimonita Town, aims to become the premier hydrangea garden in the Kanto region. On approximately 3 hectares of land, formed by the repeated processes of earth uplifts and erosion by the Kabura River, around 20,000 hydrangea bushes and 1,200 crape myrtle trees have been planted. From within the garden, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the distinctive mountain ranges of Nishi-Joshu (western Gunma), while also delighting in the beauty of the hydrangea flowers and the surrounding landscapes.
